Who we are
Bay Women Development Organization (BWDO) is a Women-led non-government organization that is committed to empowering Women, Promoting Inclusive Decision-making and Human Rights Advocacy in Somalia. Bay Women Development Organization was founded in 2011 by a team of professional and social workers with experience in the field of social development for decades
BWDO’s headquarters is in Southwest State- Baidoa city- and registered in Somalia, established to advocate for the human rights of disadvantaged groups, Women Youth, and People with disability through empowerment, social coherence, and good governance.
BWDO is a key member of the Somali civil society organizations and has implemented several projects supported by the Government, UN, International, and Local organizations.
Our Objectives
• To promote social justice by advocating for the rights of women and children and creating opportunities for them to have better life
• To eliminate gender disparity in public service provisions and decision-making process by promoting educational initiatives among vulnerable children specially girls through education vocational and life skill training
• To promote human right, gender equality and equity and empowering overall status of women to participate development programs
• To bring justice and equality in the society by advocacy on policy matters through the mutual approach of various stakeholders.
