We are glad to participate in the civil society organizations’ consultative roundtable on public participation in municipal governance.
Citizens’ engagement in decision-making processes is one of the requirements of a democratic system of government. Participation is vital because it guarantees that communities are involved in selecting which development agenda the government should emphasize; it also ensures that public officials make decisions that benefit the people.
As a result, the forum concluded successfully, with many topics relating to citizen engagement being thoroughly explored and fruitfully resolved.
