BWDO is pleased to be part of 17 selected Civil Society Working Groups on Women, Peace, and Security (CSWG-WPS) in Africa, in order to engender peace and security discourse within the AfricanUnion, & African Union ECOSOCC to ensure women’s voices are heard and women participate in conflict prevention, peacebuilding, as well as accelerating the implementation of WPS commitments across the continent.
The CSWG will serve as a mechanism to continuously improve the flow of information and analyses to PAPS and the Peace and Security Council of the African Union. The CSWG will also provide a regional platform for sustained knowledge sharing, and best practices on the implementation of the WPS agenda in Africa, for ongoing dialogue between all the stakeholders involved.
